Let’s make Deep-Fried Chicken in a frying pan today!
In Japan, we call this KARAAGE.
I love Karaage so much!

Me too!
A meal with karaage is one of the most popular choice at restaurants.
And I often ask for the set menu with Karaage when they have Karaage♪

We can make Karaage at home!

We use several kinds of seasoning for some Karaage recipes, such as soy sauce and mirin ( it’s sweet and commonly used in Japanese cooking ).
But the seasoning for this Karaage recipe is simple.

Let’s start cooking now!

( 2 servings )
★Chicken breast meat ▶︎2 chicken breasts
★Salt ▶︎about 1/2 tablespoon
★Pepper ▶︎about 1 teaspoon
★Potato starch or Corn starch ▶︎2 tablespoons
★All-purpose flour ▶︎2 tablespoons
★Oil for frying ▶︎as needed ( read the ④ )

How to make

① Sprinkle salt and pepper on chicken breast meat and chilled them in refrigerator 1 ~ 2 hours.
If you have time you can rest them more.

② Take chicken breast meat out from the refrigerator 1 ~ 2 hours before you use.

③ Mix corn starch ( or potato starch ) and al-purose flour.
Cut chicken breast meat into bite-size pieces and put them in plastic container with corn starch and all-purpose flour, cover it and shake it well.

You can also use plastic bag for foods, to cover the chicken with corn starch and flour!

④ Put oil enough to soak chicken in half and place the chicken in the frying pan.

⑤ Trun the heat to medium and deep-fry for a while.

⑥ Cook until lightly browned, turn over and cook the other side, until lightly browned and you can’t hear the sizzling noise of the chicken.

⑦ Drain excess oil with paper towel and place chicken on plate.

It’s all done!

You can also use seasoned salt instead of salt and pepper♪
