Let’s try to make delicious Gnocchi today!
It’s not that hard and it’s fun to make!


I like to knead dough even though I get tired a little♪
Because I feel like exercising while kneading!


Oh well, that’s too bad!
You don’t have to knead so hard this time.


I was looking forward to it!


But it’s ok!
Let’s start cooking♪

I’m getting hungry!


~ gnocchi ~

★Largish potato ▶︎1
★All-purpose flour ▶︎4 tablespoons
★Salt ▶︎1/3 teaspoon
★★Water ▶︎1L ( 34oz ) to coil the gnocchi
★★Salt ( again ) ▶︎1 and 1/3 tablespoons to boil the gnocchi

~ sauce ~

★☆Onion ▶︎1/2
★☆All-purpose flour ▶︎2 tablespoons
★☆Butter ▶︎2 tablespoons
★☆Milk ▶︎200cc ( about 7oz )
★☆Salt ▶︎to taste
★☆Pepper ▶︎to taste
★☆ Cheese ▶︎1/2 cup ~ as much as you want

How to make

① Boil the potato from the water until it becomes soft and cooked through.

② Mix the flour and salt in a bawl while boiling potatoes.

③ Peel the skin of potato before it gets cold and smash it in ②, mix them with spoon until it becomes like the picture below.

Potato is very hot so be careful.
You can put water near you to make your fingers to cool down.

④ Smash the potato well with your fingers or spoon and mix potato and flour.

Make them together and knead it lightly.

⑤ If you have time, wrap ④ in plastic wrap and rest it in refrigerator for 1 hour so that it will become soft and chewy dough!
( I used plastic container instead of Plastic wrap )

⑥ Let’s make sauce!

Slice the onion and sauté it with butter until the onions become soft, over low heat.

⑦ Trun the heat off, and add flour in ⑥ and mix them well.

⑧ Trun the heat on again and sauté it over low heat.

⑨ Add milk in ⑧ little by little.
Add a little bit of milk ▶︎ mix them well ▶︎ add a little bit more milk ▶︎ mix them well : repeat this about 5 ~ 10 times

⑩ Simmer ⑨ until thickened, and then put some salt and pepper to taste.

⑪ Put cheese in ⑩ and simmer until the cheese melt.

The sauce is done!

⑫ Now go back to the gnocchi.

Make the stick shape with gnocchi dough, and cut it into 1cm thick, shape it into small boll form, press it with hands and back of fork like the picture below.

⑬ Boil the 1L ( 34oz ) of water in pod, and then put 1 and 1/3 of salt, and boil the gnocchi.
Once it floats, rinse in cold water.

⑭ Mix ⑬ with cheese sauce well!
